I’ve been doing affiliate marketing for a couple of years now. Even though I’ve been somewhat successful at making money online, I haven’t reached the levels I’d hoped to. I have to spend most of my time working just to keep my head above water so in order to change that, I finally realized I needed to take another approach.
Organization, or lack of it, is one of my main problems. I don’t set out a plan for the day but tackle various things as and when they come along .
Inevitably, that means I spend more time on trivial or personally appealing tasks and my business suffers as a result .
Issues like not paying your bills have pretty immediate consequences and so, no matter how disorganized we may be, we tend to deal with them in a timely way (when possible).
If I could apply that sense of urgency to other aspects of my business, I’d see some positive results ensue .
Obviously, there was something wrong with my internet marketing strategy. While I’d gone a certain distance in my online business under my own steam, I realized that in order to progress to the next stage, I needed to get myself a mentor. And that’s where Alex Jeffreys and his internet marketing coaching program comes in.
His course began a couple of weeks ago and consists of weekly 4-hour webinars, about half of which is devoted to a Q&A session with members. The first webinar, Forward To Basics, gave we students a whole new outlook in how to run a business and this is the foundation upon which all else is built . This involves learning time management skills and being able to set realistic goals and make plans for them.
As a bit of homework, Alex has asked his students to build their own blogs. This establishes them as an online presence so they can start to build authority for themselves over time. Since students of all levels are in his coaching program, some will be out of their depth with such a task. However, additional training is provided in the members area for those who need it and the dynamic community of former students are willing to give a hand to anyone who has difficulties .
I expect to have some difficulties with this course. Already, I’m having to rethink my approach to some aspects of the way I work and I’m going to have to unlearn some bad habits! The course has been marvellous so far, with Alex providing information that I’ve not come across in other courses I’ve done. The plan he’s laid out for his students’ future is pretty inspiring too.
