Welcome to the 3rd of this little sequence showing how to employ ]search engine optimisation to have your affiliate marketing website work to earn you cash.
So far we’ve seen how to put your site’s keywords into the pages of your site, seeing the site posted in business directories which are all over the internet, and how to employ social networking to make stacks of links back to your affiliate marketing shop. What we need to do now, so as to make the search engines take proper regard of the website, is to put links and keyword references to it in thousands of places.
The most labour concentrated and time consuming part of the search engine optimisation discipline is article production, and then having that article inserted on blogs, in article banks and similar locations all over the internet where they will be discovered by the search engines spiders, and the links and keywords logged which will boost your website’s ranking for bearing. This is divisive because in some places it is seen as deceiving the system and I utterly do not concur with this, AS LONG AS the item is original material, the theme is appropriate and there are no hidden words.
The article can be about anything, it can relate personal event, an opinion on a subject in regard to what your shop is about, an informational piece, a review of a product or whatever else. I personally try to average 550 words, include two links to my site bolted to my keywords, of which I try to insert both but at least one in each paragraph if I can. It is a paradox of search engine optimisation that you do not cram your article full of keywords, but employ them sparingly, and one link on each keyword in the complete piece is a decent rule.
What should it look like? Well, this article is me doing SEO for my firm’s site though not for my affiliate marketing site, and if you go through it again you will notice my rules above are followed in it and if you select the link in the second paragraph you can discover in the News pages a list of pieces that do promote my fishing shop website.
Once it is finished, the next task to do the SEO is to change the look so that when it is inserted into in plenty of different places, each one has a unique version. To do that you ‘spin’ the item. Go through each line and look for words that have alternatives. I’ll use the first line of this paragraph as an example:

That line now has 8 alternative sets of words which can be shown in any of 4608 combinations any and all of which will actually make sense. What happens is that the publishing software will choose one word from between each set of tags and use that. Try to average 3 alternatives each, but do not force it, if there are only 2, keep it at that. And the little “|” sign comes from “shift+\” by the Z key. The search engines don’t like finding hundreds of duplicate articles and the keepers of the publishing blogs also only want unique versions, and so search engine optimisation requires this format.
For publishing, I myself use a website called Unique Article Wizard but it costs to use this. You might like to try and find a free service or, for a reasonable fee I will do it for you (email [email protected]) but very soon you will create a large bank of back-links to your site. However, it will require time, frequently a long while time, before it starts to make a difference and promote your affiliate marketing up the search engine table.
The next item in this run will demonstrate how you can use another search engine optimisation technique to get your affiliate marketing shop to the top of the search engines quickly, but it uses money, though this can be controlled.
