The Most Memorable Spacey Movies Up To This Point

One actor who has made his presence felt in Hollywood is Kevin Spacey. Spacey has starred in a multitude of films, ranging from comedic to serious. There is no doubt that he prefers to star in dramas over comedies however. At this point, it seems that Spacey only chooses roles that he is happy doing, and does not seem to be working for the money.

Here are some of Kevin Spacey’s greatest movies up to this point in his career.

The Usual Suspects is the first and arguably best movie on this list. This is certainly one of the movies that Spacey will be remembered for most; it is an incredible role in an incredible film.

Another fantastic movie that he has starred in is American Beauty. This movie is ranked as the number 40 best film of all time according to imdb.com and not surprisingly, won the Academy Award for Best Picture of the Year.

Another great Spacey movie is Outbreak. In this movie, Spacey stars as Major Casey Schuler. This movie has an all star cast which also includes, but is not limited to, Morgan Freeman, Rene Russo, Dustin Hoffman, Cuba Gooding Jr, Patrick Dempsey and Donald Sutherland.

Another film that must be included on this list is Se7en. Se7en is probably my favorite movie from director David Fincher, who also directed Fight Club, Zodiac, Panic Room, and the upcoming film, The Social Network.

Finally, one film of his that I thoroughly enjoyed was K-PAX. In this movie, Kevin Spacey plays a man who claims he is an alien from a planet called K-PAX. Both the characters in the film and we, as an audience, are unsure whether or not this claim is true.

While these movies happen to be my favorites, there are certainly many other great films starring Kevin Spacey. In fact, going through his resume, I find that there really aren’t any films of his that I didn’t enjoy.

Edward Norton’s Best Performances In Recent Memory

Making a list of my favorite Edward Norton films is a very difficult task. The problem is, I truly have enjoyed almost every movie in which he has starred. Choosing my top five films of his will not be easy, but I am determined to do it.

This article will cite some of my favorite roles Edward Norton has played in recent years.

The first movie I would like to discuss is Spike Lee’s 25th Hour. In this movie, Norton stars as a convicted man who has one day before he begins a long-term jail sentence. There is one scene in particular in this film in which Edward Norton starts going off about the different people in New York to blame and its awesome.

The second movie that definitely makes the cut of great Edward Norton films is The Score. Taking an influence from his role in Primal Fear, Norton plays a mentally disabled custodian and does a very convincing job. This is a great heist movie.

American History X is one of Norton’s finest films, and even as a villainous Nazi, he is amazing to watch. This is an important film about race and the choices we make. I highly recommend this movie.

One film of Edward Norton’s that you probably have not seen is Leaves Of Grass. This movie was released in 2009 and in a very Adaptation-esque style, features Norton playing a set of twins. One is a brilliant hillbilly drug dealer, while the other is your average Joe.

The next movie worth mentioning on this list should not come as a surprise; it is of course, Fight Club. This movie is beyond cool, and the dialogue and overall writing in this film is just amazing. Every line is well thought out.

These are just some of Edward Norton’s best films to date, but as the years go by I have no doubt that he will continue to churn out classic roles in his future endeavors.

The Best Dustin Hoffman Performances Throughout The Years

It is easier said than done to make a list of the best Dustin Hoffman films of all time. This distinguished actor has been starring in amazing movies all the back to the sixties. He continues to star in great roles to this day, and his catalog of films is something for young actors to aspire to.

This article will highlight some of Dustin Hoffman’s greatest films of all time.

The first movie I will mention is one of his first films, and that of course, The Graduate. Not only was this a great movie, but the incredibly appropriate song “Mrs. Robinson” by Simon and Garfunkel was featured in this iconic film.

One movie that was surprisingly enjoyable was Stranger Than Fiction. This movie also stars Will Ferrel, and is essentially a story about an actor who can hear an author in his head telling the story of his life. It is a dark, yet humorous movie.

Another fantastic film that shows off Hoffman’s versatility is none other than Tootsie. In this movie, Hoffman plays an actor who disguises himself as a woman to get a role in a major soap opera. This movie also stars Jessica Lange.

One movie that is fun for the whole family and happens to star Dustin Hoffman is Hook. This Peter Pan adaptation was directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg and stars Robin Williams as Peter Pan.

One film that I can highly recommend is Runaway Jury. Hoffman stars as a hard working, honest lawyer who takes on a firearms company whose guns were used in the killing of the defendant’s husband. Meanwhile, the jury is being tampered to affect the outcome.

Hopefully there are one or more films on this list of Dustin Hoffman films which you have yet to see.

A Film Buff’s List Of The Best Directors Of Hollywood

Comprising a list of the greatest directors in the business is not an easy task. There are many individuals who consistently create some of the best movies of the year.

But which directors working today are the best? Here are some of my favorites.

Martin Scorsese is simply put, one of the best. When all is said and done, he will go down as one of the greatest of all time. If you are not all too familiar with Scorsese’s work, some of his better movies to see include Raging Bull, Gangs Of New York, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas.

Another incredible director working today is Christopher Nolan. In fact, Nolan might be the best director in Hollywood right now. He has yet to put out a movie that I haven’t absolutely loved; Memento, Inception, The Prestige and The Dark Knight are just some of his best.

Danny Boyle is another director that I absolutely love. Some of Boyle’s best movies include, but are not limited to, Unleashed (aka “Danny The Dog”) starring Jet Li, 28 Days Later, Trainspotting, and of course, Slumdog Millionaire. His new movie, 127 Hours, stars James Franco and looks awesome.

Another director that must be mentioned in any combination of directors is obviously James Cameron. The man has put out some of the most iconic movies of all time, not to mention the top two highest grossing films of all time, Titanic and Avatar. If you haven’t seen Avatar, you are missing out.

One other director that has to be mentioned on any list of mine is Quentin Tarantino. Where do I even begin? Some of his best movies include Kill Bill: Vol 1, Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, and Reservoir Dogs.

When it comes down to it, the above five directors are my favorites. Any movie any of these geniuses create I will line up at theaters to see.

Some Of The Greatest Films From The Hilarious Actor, Adam Sandler

When talking about successful comedians in years past, one person that has to be brought up in the conversation is Adam Sandler. He was never that well known for his stand up comedy, but rather for his hilarious prank call albums and novelty songs. He then managed to explode onto the movie scene and hasn’t slowed down since.

But which Adam Sandler films are the funniest? This article will highlight some of my favorites of his movies.

The first movie that must be mentioned probably still remains my favorite. Billy Madison was one of the funniest movies of the 90s and set the standard for subsequent comedies.

Another fantastic movie starring Adam Sandler is Click. This movie was not at all what I expected; it actually is a very emotional film, to say the least. Regardless of whether it is a true comedy, I still loved this movie.

Another great film starring Sandler was Punch Drunk Love. This movie confused a lot of people, because it was such a departure from his previous roles. I still really enjoyed this movie, and thought it was a great role for him.

One movie which starred Sandler that was not a comedy at all, yet was still a great movie was Reign Over Me. Sandler plays a widowed man who has put a terrible memory of the past behind him, yet must confront his demons when he reunites with an old college friend.

Who can make a list of Sandler films and not give praise to Happy Gilmore? This movie appeased comedy and sports fans alike, as Sandler plays a reluctant golfer with serious temper issues. Hilarity ensues.

These seem to be the best of the best Adam Sandler movies, but it is also tough to not give mention to Dirty Work, even if he wasn’t the lead role. This movie is hilarious.

Memorable Action Films That Were In Theaters In Recent Years

Over the past few years, action movies have taken huge steps forward. The budgets are as big as they have ever been, and visual effects have become so impressive that action movies often make us wonder if what we are watching actually happened.

In my opinion, here are the best action movies from the past ten years.

When it comes to superhero movies, big action sequences are a given. However, the best superhero action movie award goes to The Dark Knight. The scene where Batman wraps a cable around the wheels a truck speeding toward him is an unforgettable sequence.

The other great superhero film from the past few years was Iron Man. This movie was more lighthearted than The Dark Knight, but was incredibly entertaining. The action scenes were unlike anything we have ever seen. When Iron Man is being chased by M16s, it is like a roller coaster ride.

Avatar very well might be the greatest action film I have ever seen. The combination of a foreign planet and revolutionary 3D technology created an experience we, as movie viewers, have never seen before. I cannot wait to see what the sequel will bring.

V for Vendetta was another action film that I thoroughly enjoyed. It had the right balance of seriousness and humor and used a lot of the technology made famous by the Wachowski Brothers in the Matrix films to wow audiences. The final fight scene, in particular, is breathtaking.

District 9 is not a traditional action film, however it delivered on all accounts in my opinion. There is minimal action and suspense within the first half of this movie, but it is all part of a story line ascent that takes off in the second half and never looks back.

Hopefully there are some films on this list that you have yet to see. If you are a fan of action films, they are all worth checking out.

A Few Of The Most Memorable Acting Performances From The Versatile Thespian, Daniel Day Lewis

Where to start with Daniel Day Lewis? The guy is like the Dr. Dre of acting. He only comes out with a movie when he sees fit, and when he does, you can be sure that it will be an incredible movie. Lewis is at a point in his career where he only chooses the perfect roles for him and has no problem taking some time off in between.

This article will cite some of my favorite films starring the great Daniel Day Lewis.

One movie certainly worth mentioning is The Age Of Innocence. This is a romantic film that was released in 1993 and circulates around a story of betrayal, infidelity, lust and love.

Who can make a list of Daniel Day Lewis films and not mention The Last Of The Mohicans? In this French and Indian War classic, Lewis plays Hawkeye, a Native American looking to defend the remaining members of his tribe.

Another great film starring Lewis is Gangs Of New York. This movie shows New York City in the days when various gangs ran the streets and it was far from the place it is today.

When all is said and done, it was Lewis’ most recent Oscar win that was his most impressive: the role of the tyrannical oilman Daniel Plainview. If this movie was a work of fiction, Lewis would have you convinced otherwise. This movie played like a biopic.

The Boxer is another movie that is worth mentioning, as it is one of the few awesome Daniel Day Lewis sports roles. This movie came out in 1997 to limited release, but deserves to be seen by more widespread audiences.

As it stands, this is my list. I have no doubts however that any future Daniel Day Lewis films will be incredible as well.

The Most Memorable Tom Cruise Performances Up To This Point

Tom Cruise has had some fantastic movies over the years. He went through a period where he was not so favorable in the public eye (jumping on the couch incident on Oprah/preaching Scientology), but he has somehow managed to win audiences over again. In my opinion, he was always great, even if he was a little too emotional about certain issues.

Whether or not you are a fan of him as a person, it is hard to argue with Tom Cruise’s list of movies that he has starred in. Here are some of my favorites.

The first movie I will mention also happened to be my Halloween costume last year, and that film was Risky Business. The scene in this movie where Cruise is running around his house in sunglasses and socks has become an iconic scene.

Another great Tom Cruise movie that I thoroughly enjoyed was The Last Samurai. This is a great war epic, taking place in 1800s Japan at a time when the Samurai and their traditions were being wiped out of existence. This is a fantastic movie.

One movie that I have to include on any list of Tom Cruise films is without a shadow of a doubt, Vanilla Sky. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is one of those films that the more times you watch it, the more you pick up on.

Another great Tom Cruise film is Vanilla Sky. This movie just makes me happy. In my opinion, it is director Cameron Crowe’s best film to date. Penelope Cruz shines, while Cameron Diaz and Jason Lee deliver great supporting roles.

Of course, one movie that must be mentioned on this list is Rain Main. This is an absolutely incredible film, and Dustin Hoffman delivers the role of his career. It was no surprise that this movie won the Oscar for Best Picture of the Year.

One movie of Tom Cruise’s that I have yet to see, but have only heard amazing things about, is Magnolia. I don’t doubt that this movie is amazing, considering the great Paul Thomas Anderson directed it, and it is without a doubt the next film of his that I need to see.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Greatest Performances In The Past Few Years

Leonardo DiCaprio is an amazing actor. This is undeniable truth. You can argue it, but you’d be wrong. The guy consistently gets to choose the best roles available and it is no secret that he’s Martin Scorsese new favorite actor to work with (the previous of course being Robert De Niro).

But which of his films are the best? The following movies are my favorite Leonardo DiCaprio films in his already illustrious career.

The first movie I would like to mention is Titanic. While it is certainly not my favorite movie of his by any means, you have to give credit where credit is due. This is the second highest grossing film of all time.

One incredible movie in which Leonardo DiCaprio starred is Catch Me If You Can. In this Steven Spielberg directed chase film inspired by a true story, Leo plays the incredibly “resourceful” (for lack of a better word) Frank Abagnale.

When it came out, The Beach was one of my favorite movies. This movie is paradise turned into Lord Of The Rings. This film was also one of the first that Academy Award Winner Danny Boyle directed.

Another amazing film that happens to star Leonardo DiCaprio is Inception. I don’t think the role that he played in this film was particularly demanding, but that doesn’t stop it from being an absolutely incredible movie.

Who can make a list of Leonardo DiCaprio films and not include The Departed. There is a reason that Leo was cast in the role of Billy Costigan, a cop on the wrong side of an undercover investigation. His paranoia in this film rubbed off on me. This movie is directed by the great Martin Scorcese and has an all star cast including Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen and the lovely Vera Farmiga.

In reading this article, I am hopeful that there is at least one movie on this list which you have not yet seen and will not add to your movie list.

The Most Memorable Pacino Films Throughout The Years

Any time you want to discuss some of the greatest actors of all time, living or dead, one person that has to be put into the conversation is Al Pacino. Since his early days as a young Michael Corleone, Pacino has been on a path of greatness and has starred in over 30 films.

The following films are my top five personal favorites starring Al Pacino.

Whether you choose The Godfather Part 1 or The Godfather Part 2 is completely your call, but one of these two films has to be on any list of Al Pacino’s best movies. My personal preference is The Godfather Part 2, but to each his own. If you choose number 3, you should watch the first two again.

A more recent film of his that I feel the need to mention is Any Given Sunday. Now I am not the biggest Oliver Stone fan, but I found his depiction of professional football to be very entertaining. Pacino’s “Peace With Inches” speech has become one of the more famous monologues in recent memory.

Another great film starring this incredibly talented actor is Heat. Also starring Robert De Niro, this film about bank robberies and bombs is directed by Michael Mann, and was the first movie in which these two legends are in the same scene together.

While there have been films that try to recreate the magic that is Scarface, nothing has touched this iconic cult classic. It is hard to picture anyone else playing the part of Tony Montana the way that Pacino did and thank goodness they never decided to make a sequel with this movie like they did with Carlito’s Way.

Finally, a movie that often goes over looked when talking about Al Pacino films is The Insider. I am not quite sure why, as this movie is as suspenseful as any. I believe it was nominated for best picture, and is a great Michael Mann/Pacino collaboration.

Hopefully there is one or more films on this list of this great actor’s resume that you have yet to see.

Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Most Impressive Performances In Throughout His Career

Any time you are going to talk about actors based on talent, one person who should be thrown into the discussion is Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hoffman is a classically trained theater actor, and I think that shows; his poise and versatility are amazing things to watch.

This article will discuss some of the best Philip Seymour Hoffman movies and roles up to this point in his career.

The first movie I will discuss is a rather dark film and was released on a smaller scale, as many of his films often are. Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead is a difficult film to get through, but Hoffman’s acting is nothing short of top notch.

Another great film featuring the great Philip Seymour Hoffman is Twister. Again, this is not a leading role for Hoffman, but you cannot deny that he knows how to choose a role and does not simply jump at the gun to act in any movie. I haven’t seen this movie in quite some time, but I still remember how amazing the special effects looked in theaters.

If you have yet to see Doubt, then you are missing out on some amazing acting. Any time you put Meryl Streep and Philip Hoffman together the result is going to be great. It came as no surprise that both of them were nominated for Academy Awards for this film.

One film that featured Philip Seymour Hoffman which I absolutely love is 25th Hour. Hoffman plays a teacher who is the friend of a man about to be locked up for many years (played by Edward Norton). As they enjoy their last night out together, things take an interesting turn.

When it comes to Hoffman’s finest acting performances, one movie that has to be mentioned is Capote. This movie finally won Hoffman an Oscar. Even without knowing anything about the man who this movie is about, you can still appreciate the fine acting job that he delivered.

Hopefully there are one or more Philip Seymour Hoffman films on this list which you have not yet seen. Get familiar with this incredible actor, because he will be around for years to come.

A Movie Buff’s Opinion Of Most Memorable Jack Nicholson Films Of All Time

Throughout the years, few actors have accomplished as much in their careers as Jack Nicholson has. In the 1970s, he won audiences over; in the 1980s, he continued to star in classic movies and has continued the trend through the 90s and beyond.

This article will highlight my top five favorite Jack Nicholson films of all time.

It should come as no surprise that The Departed makes the list. Jack plays a crime boss in this film and shows us that even in his older age, he can still be a terrifying force to deal with. See this movie if you have not already.

The quintessential Jack Nicholson film that has to be mentioned in this article is One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. This is as classic as films get, and it comes as no surprise that it is ranked as a top 10 film of all time according to the Internet movie database.

Steven King’s The Shining showed audiences just how terrifying a role Mr Nicholson is capable of playing. This movie further showcased his versatility, playing a completely different role than anything he had attempted before.

It would be a shame to make a list of Jack Nicholson films without giving mention to the original Batman film. The Joker was one of the most iconic characters and Jack set a high standard for comic book villains for years to come.

Jack Nicholson’s second Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role came for his portrayal of Melvin Udall in As Good As It Gets. This is as good as acting gets.

I wanted to limit this list to five films, but feel that a six movie, Chinatown is worth mentioning. This is a great murder mystery film that was released in 1974.

The Most Memorable Tom Hanks Films In His Career

If we want to make an argument or top 10 list of the best actors of all time, one actor that you can certainly make an argument for is Tom Hanks. Ever since his role in Splash, Tom Hanks has been one of the objectively likable guys working in Hollywood. He just seems like a good person and I feel that resonates through his roles.

There’s a lot to like about Tom Hanks, and as such I feel he deserves one of my patented top 5 lists.

The surefire film that would make any list of great Tom Hanks movies is Forrest Gump. This is probably his most notable role of all time and with good reason, he perfected this role as no one else could.

Another great movie of this incredibly talented actor is Catch Me If You Can. Steven Spielberg directs this cat and mouse drama that also stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the real life crook Frank Abagnale, Jr.

One other great movie of his is of course, Saving Private Ryan. Any time you put Spielberg and Hanks together, you are going to get a quality movie. Any time you put Spielberg in charge of directing a WWII film, and you are likely to have a masterpiece.

Another movie of his that should be on any top 5 list would be Apollo 13. This movie was an iconic film at the time and Hanks was one of the many reasons why. “Houston, we have a problem.”

Finally, I feel the need to mention is Toy Story. As the voice of Woody, Tom Hanks gave us the first iconic CGI character. He has reprised this role in the two films since and you have to wonder if these movies would be so great without him.

Hopefully there is one or more Tom Hanks films on this list which you have not yet seen and now feel compelled to do so.

Check Out These 5 Eighties Box Office Hits If You Have Never Seen Them

A lot of people make derisory comments about the 1980’s and knock the fashions, hairstyles etc But you can’t deny it was a decade that produced some great movies.

For those in their mid twenties and younger, a lot of these movies are probably just names they hear they’re parents mention. When in fact they really should have seen them as they are modern classics.

Although over 20 years old now, these films still bring as much joy to the audiences today as they did the first time around and are still firm favorites.

Why not try out these 5 which are amongst my personal favorites. You have nothing to lose and a great nights entertainment to gain.

First of all I want to take you to Chicago and introduce you to the cult classic Adventures in Babysitting. Starring a young Elisabeth Shue, this was a smash hit in it’s time and is still a great movie.

If you enjoy a good sports comedy, then Major League will suit you down to the ground. It was a big hit and two sequels followed.

A truly iconic movie from the 1980’s in the Breakfast Club. Starring many of the young stars of that era including Molly Ringwald, you will probably have heard of it even if you haven’t gotten around to seeing it yet. This is a movie that really deserves the title ‘classic’.

Although a major star now, in the 1980’s Matthew Broderick was just starting out, and his first major role was in the extremely funny Ferris Bueller’s day off. The tale of a kid, his girlfriend and buddy skipping school for a day in the big city was a huge hit at the time and is still a great laugh.

A great action movie that for me has never been surpassed is the fabulous Die Hard. What else could you want from a leading man than the charismatic Bruce Willis? It’s a testimony to the brilliance of this film that the latest sequel only came out in the last few years. Two hours of pure action packed entertainment.

The Greatest Bruce Willis Films Throughout The Years

One actor who always seems to come up in the discussion of great actors of my generation (early to mid nineties was my prime) is Bruce Willis. It is not just my generation however; Bruce Willis continues to churn out excellent high action movies to this day.

This article will cite some of my personal favorite roles that Bruce Willis has played over the span of his illustrious career.

One movie that Bruce Willis starred in and ranks among my all time favorites is Sin City. This Robert Rodriguez directed comic book adaptation of the same name features a bunch of stories taking place within the same city, and it just pure awesomeness.

Another fantastic Bruce Willis film is Hostage. This film ended up being much better than I thought it would be, and much darker as well. This is a high suspense film and Ben Foster also stars and plays a terrifying villain named Mars.

One film that this great actor has starred in that I secretly love, but will never let my guy friends know it, is Armageddon. Sure, its sappy, but the last scene in this movie will get anyone emotional, that’s all I will say.

Another film that has to be on my list is none other than Die Hard: With A Vengeance. It was hard to pick from the four films in this franchise, but at the end of the day, the third installment of the wild man John McClane was my favorite.

One other film of Bruce Willis’ that I feel the need to mention is The Fifth Element. This is another one of my favorite science fiction movies of all time, and Willis does a seriously good job in the role of Korben Dallas.

The last film I will mention on this list may come as a surprise to some, but it is none other than Lucky Number Slevin. Sure, it was just a small role, but this movie is just awesome and feel that it deserves a shout out.

The Most Enjoyable Kung Fu Inspired Films Of The Past Few Years

Movies involving some form of Asian martial arts are easily one of my favorite genres to watch. In fact, one thing I always appreciate, whether its on flat screen televisions at a trendy restaurant or on a old TV at a house party, is old school kung fu flicks in the background. These movies helped define a newer generation of martial arts films, and while many of the older films have earned classic status, the newer martial arts movies are often visually incredible.

Here is my list of the best of the best martial arts based movies that have hit theaters in the past 10 years.

I will start this list off by mentioning the incredible movie, Equilibrium. This movie stars Christian Bale, as well as Taye Diggs in futuristic setting when humans take drugs to suppress human emotion. This movie shows us the “Gun Kata,” a very cool form of martial arts involving guns, as the name would suggest.

Another film that must make any martial arts list, old school or not, is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. This movie showed audiences a new level of special effects in martial arts film. Ang Lee pulled out all the stops with this one and helped reinvent the film genre.

House of Flying Daggers is another movie that makes the cut for me. I received a PSP as a gift a few years back, and this was the only movie I owned on it. The visual quality of watching this movie on a PSP still is one of the most vibrant things I’ve ever seen on screen.

Who could make a list of martial arts from 2000 up until now and not mention Kill Bill? Sure it is not a traditional martial arts film per se, but it is a saga of revenge and clearly takes a lot of influence from the old Kurosawa films.

Another movie I’ll mention is Oldboy. This is a twisted movie and if you like psychological thrillers mixed with some awesome fighting sequences, this is a great one to watch.

This was not an easy list to create, and it is quite possible I will have to write a followup article with other great martial arts movies that didn’t make this cut.

Romantic Comedy Movies From The Last Few Years Which Are Enjoyable

If you are looking for a great movie to watch on a date night, and are looking for a good compromise between genres, romantic comedies may not always be an option. Many men (as well as some women) find these movies to be unappealing, however you should know that there are some good options out there.

Here is a list of what I consider to be the most enjoyable movies of the romantic comedy genre to come out in theaters from 2000 to 2010.

I will have to start off with probably the best film of any on this list, and that is none other than Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Oddly enough, this film has a very serious subject matter to it, and can be considered dark comedy as well. This might be my favorite Jim Carrey movie of any.

If you are looking for something outside the box, yet still enjoyable, you should consider The Science Of Sleep, directed by Michel Gondry. This film is visually trippy and stars the incredibly talented Gael Garcia Bernal.

It goes without saying that The 40 Year Old Virgin should be on this list. Steve Carrell stars in his breakout role as a virgin, who is, as the title would suggest, 40 years old. Directed by the great Judd Apatow, this film is filled with laughs.

Any fan of Woody Allen films should check out Vicky Christina Barcelona. Woody Allen has always been exceptional at showcasing the cities in which his movies take place, and Vicky Christina Barcelona shows the beauty of the Spanish city brilliantly. It is truly amazing the range that Javier Bardem has showed recently. In just a few months, he went from playing one of the most terrifying villains in cinematic history (Anton Sigur in the multiple Academy Award Winning film No Country For Old Men) to playing a seductive Spanish romantic in this film.

One last film that I feel compelled to mention is Hitch. I tend to like most films that Will Smith is in, but this movie surely is the most romantic of comedies in his catalogue. Its funny, its cute, its plain and simple, an enjoyable film.

Hopefully you found one or more films on this list that you will consider next time you want to watch a romantic comedy.
