Never Put off Tomorrow, What You Can Achieve Today

Is there anything special on your agenda for the week – what are you striving for?

All too often people wait for times like New year to assess what they are doing with their lives and what they want to do over the next 12 months. This is fine as it good to step back and see where you are and where you want to be. nevertheless, if you only look at yourself once a year you are giving yourself plenty of time for things to slip in between.

Everyday that you wait to do something, you are giving those who are waiting in the wings to take your spot, the edge. While you sit around waiting for ‘another day’ there are those who are pushing their publicity campaigns and getting out and promoting themselves.

Your music calling should be like any other regular job with things that you need to get done and deadlines for achieving them. Even if these seem like quite abstract and far-reaching to begin with, if you break them down you will soon see steps to achieve that goal. Want to get a number one track on the charts? Just step back and see what you need to put into place to get there; obviously, the first thing is to write and record that song. From there you will be looking at merchandising, dispersion, sales and so forth… You should look to have an idea of what you want to achieve month to month, week by week and day by day.

Why not sort out your EPK/electronic press kit? Or perhaps you might want to look into options for marketing, publicity, furtherance, distribution? Check your contacts, hit the streets – just make something happen today.

So why not take a moment to set out a plan of action for this week, for today or for the next month. Of course you can sit back and put things off – your competitors will thank you as they love it when you do nothing – it just makes their job easier…
